Where to Find the Best Beer and Wine in Santa Cruz

There’s nothing better than relaxing with an ice cold beverage on a hot summer day– don’t you agree? And in Santa Cruz, you can have the best of both worlds with plenty of breweries and wineries to visit. Take a look below for some of the best spots to find beer and wine in Santa Cruz.

Great Beer in Santa Cruz

While in wine country, you might not think about grabbing a cold glass of quality beer. But, believe it or not, Santa Cruz is home to some really fantastic breweries. Here’s a few that are definitely worth a visit:

  • Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing: A quaint, local brewery that serves up lots of organic beers. Make sure to check the Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing calendar for regularly scheduled events and food pop-ups
  • Humble Sea Brewery: Grab a seat on the patio and enjoy one of their many craft beers. This spot is kid-friendly and pet-friendly
  • New Bohemia Brewing Co: A modern brewery with lots of experimental varieties. Catch a glimpse of their brewing process from one of the main tanks sitting behind the bar
  • Sante Adairius Rustic Ales: Farmhouse-style brewery with 10+ brews and delicious pretzels (ask for cheese sauce)
  • Uncommon Brewers: The description is in the name- you’ll find lots of uncommon brews, served in unique cans. This spot (intentionally) doesn’t make IPAs

Try Them at the Hop ‘n Barley Beer Festival

You can visit one or all of Santa Cruz’s unique breweries at any time of the year. Or, if you’ll be in town on July 13, get a taste of lots of local selections at the Hop ‘n Barley Beer Festival. From 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., visitors can head to Skypark for 50+ local breweries, food, live music and beer games. The event is family-friendly and dog-friendly, with activities for all guests. Tickets to the Hop ‘n Barley Beer Festival are $40 for tastings included, or $5 for entry-only.
