Upcoming Fall Festivals in Santa Barbara
The coastal city of Santa Barbara is home to a wide variety of delicious restaurants, interesting attractions and, most importantly, exciting festivals! This fall, take the opportunity to visit some upcoming Santa Barbara events, including the Harbor and Seafood Festival, Old Time Fiddler’s Festival and Downtown Trick or Treat.
Santa Barbara Harbor and Seafood Festival
Enjoy the rich diversity of the Santa Barbara Channel at this year’s Santa Barbara Harbor and Seafood Festival on Oct 12 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Held at the Santa Barbara Harbor, this festival highlights some of the area’s best sustainably harvested, high-quality seafood. Expect fresh-caught lobster, sea urchin prepared on the spot, oyster bars and more. Specialty food booths will serve up all sorts of dishes, including things like fish tacos, mussels and clam chowder. Along with all the good eats, guests also have the chance to meet the Santa Barbara fishermen behind these great catches. And throughout the day, take advantage of dockside tours and free boat rides along the harbor. The Harbor and Seafood Festival is free to attend and family-friendly.
Old-Time Fiddler’s Festival
The Old-Time Fiddler’s Festival will also be happening in Santa Barbara on Oct 12! On Saturday from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., enjoy a free Old-Time concert at the Rancho La Patera & Stow House. This concert is the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience historic gardens while listening to music by some of the best Old-Time bands. The entertainment lineup includes the SLO County Stumblers (banjo, fiddle, guitar), Art Rosenbaum (banjo, fiddle, harmonica) and David Bragger & Susan Platz (banjo-fiddle duet), to name a few. Expect high-energy music and unconventional instruments the entire afternoon. Adult admission is $15 and children 12 and under are free.
Downtown Trick or Treat
Halloween is right around the corner! If you’ll be celebrating with the kids in Santa Barbara, head Downtown on Oct 31 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. for the city’s annual Trick or Treat festivities. Participating stores, restaurants and galleries will be marked with balloons if they’re passing out treats. Kids must be dressed in costume and carry their own treat bag to participate. Santa Barbara’s Downtown Trick or Treat is free to attend and open to kids of all ages.
