The Chardonnay Run: National 5K Wine Racing Series Comes to the Santa Monica Pier

The Chardonnay Run is returning to Los Angeles! Race then taste at this national 5k wine racing series on Saturday, May 7th at the Santa Monica Pier. Only an 8-minute walk from the Pier, Broughton’s boutique Georgian Hotel is the perfect place to stay for a weekend of running, wine, and sunshine.


About The Chardonnay Run

Grab your friends, throw on your running shoes and enjoy a glass of wine. The Chardonnay Run is a national 5k wine racing series that visits some of the country’s largest cities such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Chicago and New York. Participants in the run enjoy a glass of wine, tasty pairings, grapes, live music and numerous food trucks/vendors. Are your friends not feeling athletic but still want to cheer you on and drink wine? No worries, spectator tickets are available for $5/person and include a free glass of wine and access to the post-race bash.


The race begins at Ocean View Park and runs up Ocean Avenue until right before California Avenue, where runners will then turn around and finish the race at the Santa Monica Pier (full course map). Registration fee from now until April 22 is $50/runner. Registration fee between April 23 and May 5 increases to $60/runner, and the registration fee on race day is $70/runner (spectator tickets are always available for $5). Space is very limited, so be sure to reserve your spot now by registering on the race’s website!
