San Lorenzo Park turns especially green for Earth Day Santa Cruz 2019 on April 20. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.,  San Lorenzo Park will host Earth Day Santa Cruz 2019. It’s a day to celebrate natural resources to learn how we can protect the Earth (in small and big ways). The schedule of events for 2019 will be out soon, but in the meantime, check out last year’s events here. Have the whole family pitch in with the San Lorenzo River clean-up. Learn to have a lighter carbon footprint in your life through workshops and information booths. For those 18+, check out the rock-climbing wall and see if you can make it to the top. Also expect face painting, aerial art performances and crafts to keep the kids entertained. Also, enjoy live music performances by a variety of local musicians. Best Sustainable Restaurants in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz’s restaurants have taken sustainability and organic eating to the next level. Shadowbrook is its own little world with lush greenery, palm trees and a unique herb garden. What makes it unique, you might ask? What was once the roof of their restaurant has since been transformed into an herb garden. The fresh herbs are used in their signature drinks, like Coconut Lavender Lemonade, and in most of their main dishes. If you’re looking to grab a pint, check out Discretion Brewing. It’s Santa Cruz’s first solar-powered and green-certified brewery. Make sure to try their award-winning Uncle Dave’s IPA. It won third place in the 2016 National Organic Brewing Competition.
