Chicago Jazz Festival
There’s no need to explain that Chicago’s role in the development of jazz music has been an influential one. When you think about the history of the Windy City, you think baseball, comedy, but first and foremost you may think of jazz music and the city’s foundation based in the timeless music genre. With a jazz reputation as impressive as Chicago’s, it should come as no surprise that the Chicago Jazz Festival is an amazingly entertaining time and this year, the festival has extended its hours to include an extra day of jazzy activities. The festival will be showcasing amazing talent from all over the country as well as numerous local jazz acts right in the center of downtown Chicago. What’s the only thing that could make the Chicago Jazz Festival even better? Free admission, of course. So grab a blanket and a few lawn chairs and bebop your way to Millenium Park for a swankified time!
The Chicago Jazz festival will take place over the course of August 29th to September 1st to give as many chances to check out these cool cats perform amazing tunes. Hours of the festival will be:
Thursday, August 29th: 12 pm to 4:30 pm
Thursday, August 29th: 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm
Friday, August 30th – Sunday, September 1st: 11am to 9 pm
The majority of the festival will take place in the heart of Chicago’s downtown in Millennium Park. The only exception to this is on Thursday, August 29th in which from 12 pm to 4:30 you can attend the festival at the Chicago Cultural Center.
