5 Can’t-Miss Festivals

We’re sure you don’t need us to tell you…but we will anyways: Summer is the season of festivals! And it’s especially true in Santa Barbara. No matter your age or interests, there’s bound to be at least one festival perfect for you. Here’s five upcoming Santa Barbara festivals you absolutely should not miss this summer.

Summerland Block Party

For wine tasting, a beer garden, live music and more, visit the Summerland Block Party on June 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The party will take over the entire Lillie Avenue (in Summerland, CA) with lots of local vendors, live entertainment and a Farmers & the Flea market. This event is free to attend and family-friendly. For more information, send an email to [email protected].

Santa Barbara French Festival

Celebrate Bastille Day this summer at the 31st Annual French Festival on July 13-14, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Head to Oak Park at the corner of W. Juniper St. and Alamar Ave. either day for live entertainment across three stages, authentic French food and a variety of local vendors. The event is free to attend, but donations to the French Festival are accepted.

Beachside Wine Festival

For a classy beachside wine tasting, attend this year’s Beachside Wine Festival on July 20, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. This California Wine Festival signature event attracts thousands of wine lovers each year. Expect hundreds of fine wines, regional craft brews and a variety of foods to sample. Taste artisanal cheeses, breads and chocolates while enjoying live music and views of the ocean. Tickets to the Beachside Wine Festival are $90 for early entrance or $70 for regular admission. They’re expected to sell out, so don’t want too long to reserve yours!

19th Annual Woodies at the Beach

If old cars interest you, head to the west lawn of Santa Barbara City College on July 27 for the 19th Annual Woodies at the Beach. From 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., woodies of all styles and colors will line the lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Pack a picnic to enjoy at the event or grab a bite from the HEAT Culinary food truck.
